Iowa State University Southeast Recreation Complex

Ames, IA

Iowa State Recreation Services desired to expand the already large array of opportunities for students to be active and enjoy opportunities through team sports. Working in partnership with Hastings+Chivetta Architects, INVISION provided services for the renovation of the Southeast Recreation Complex for Iowa State Recreation Services. Renovations to the 53-acre site located east of Jack Trice Stadium included a new service building with restrooms and equipment checkout, eight volleyball courts, six softball fields and nine multipurpose fields for soccer and football. The addition of field lighting also allows for greater access to the facilities throughout the year.

Working closely with Iowa State University and Hastings+Chivetta, we were able to quickly understand the needs of the client and how to deliver superior results in a timely fashion. The goal was to provide the University and its students a place of retreat, a place to enjoy the company of fellow students and a chance to break away from everyday studies. Having a facility of this nature helps students achieve a work-life balance and hopefully have a lasting impact on the Iowa State campus for years to come.
