Cedar Falls Public Works Complex
Cedar Falls, IA

Following the flooding of their existing facilities in June of 2008, the city of Cedar Falls brought in INVISION to master plan a new facility. The team developed a consolidated concept, improving work flow and efficiency for the city. The project is designed to LEED Silver certification with geothermal strategies and significant controlled daylighting.

Project Coordinator
Jeff Oltmann

Consolidated function supports efficiency.

This one structure includes refuse vehicle storage, administrative offices, vehicle maintenance, crew room and locker rooms, traffic operations bays and vehicle storage bays. A brine production building and fueling stations are also included separate from the main building. It was important to use the design to create a cohesive building that had openness and daylight but could meet the demands of those different users and provide future expansion options.

I’ve always found INVISION not only responsive to my needs, but I could always rely upon them to follow up... Their attention to detail and ability to work with all those involved made for a successful project.
