My path into architecture began with the pursuit of a degree in visual arts. While I studied drawing, painting and sculpture, I was most drawn to large-scale constructions that created immersive experiences for viewers. I liked creating spaces for people to experience. That same designer’s joy has carried through my professional work in architecture — from developing details for custom fabrications to shaping entire buildings from the ground up. I gravitate toward a design process that starts by defining the boundaries and rules of a problem, then allows solutions to emerge through an understanding of how people will experience the space. As a leader and manager, I strive to guide my teams and clients through this process, helping them arrive at solutions that feel authentically their own.

Fun Fact
- Some people have the impression that nobody actually comes from Phoenix, Arizona. But I do! My family arrived in the state five generations ago (ironically, from Kansas). But I met my bride, a native of the Kansas side of the Kansas City metro, so this is where we live and have raised our family.
