The Cedar Valley SportsPlex was planned as an inclusive recreational facility where families could spend time together. Because the project was sited on two highly-visible city blocks, the INVISION team used differing scales to relate to the busy, urban highway versus the pedestrian city street, both adjacent to the project. It was important to the client and design team to incorporate energy efficient features into the building as well, with the finished design exceeding energy requirements by 30 percent.
A turf field house, two-court gymnasium, leisure pool, elevated running track, weight and cardio space, and even a golf practice area ensure there are activities for everyone in the Cedar Valley community to enjoy. A kids’ gym and childcare area also make the SportsPlex a great place for families and visitors of all ages.
