Architectural Specification Writer
Position Description
INVISION is seeking a specification writer to join our team. The specification writer will participate in the preparation and editing of commercial and institutional architectural specifications and project manuals for a full-service architectural firm. Review drawings for quality control and coordination with specifications. Work with project architects in product and material selection. Provide specification support through construction administration. Meet product representatives and lead specification related best practices for INVISION. Assist in research and become a resource for new and changing building products.
Position Responsibilities
Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects
Knowledge and experience with construction processes and architectural materials
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team setting
Specification writing experience
Desire to engage in the office and community
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural technology, construction management or other construction related field
Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat
Experience with architectural drafting and specifications writing software — our office primarily uses Revit and Speclink
CSI / CDT credentials preferred
