Florida Department of Law Enforcement Jacksonville Regional Operations Center

Jacksonville, FL

The Pensacola Regional Operations Center was envisioned as a state-of-the-art crime laboratory and regional headquarters designed to advance forensic science, law enforcement coordination, and investigative capabilities across Northwest Florida. The comprehensive facility plan includes four primary buildings housing specialized laboratories for chemistry, DNA, biology, and fingerprint analysis, as well as dedicated suites for investigative units such as Cyber Crime, Organized Crime, and Domestic Security.

Central to the design is a high-security Fusion Center and SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility), providing a direct connection to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for real-time monitoring of media, internet, and social networks. Supporting outbuildings include a dedicated Training Center and a Crime Scene building designed for controlled, offsite CSI activities — reinforcing the facility’s role as both a technical and educational hub.

Although currently unbuilt, the Pensacola Regional Operations Center represents a forward-looking vision for integrated forensic research, data analysis, and multi-agency collaboration. The design balances advanced security and technology infrastructure with functional efficiency, setting a new standard for regional public safety facilities.
