The 185-acre campus was delivered through a long-term build-to-suit lease beginning in 2008 and continuing to the present. The 1,500,000 SF facility consists of five buildings housing 6,000 employees and supporting the construction of non-nuclear parts to support inventory of the United States nuclear arsenal. Centerpoint Zimmer LLC served as the developer, with JE Dunn as the general contractor, and the facilities were relocated from the Bannister Federal Complex to 147th Street and Botts Road in south Kansas City.
Services included comprehensive support during pre-development, design, construction, and occupancy. Following the lease award, responsibilities expanded to a full-time on-site construction management team, design document reviews for compliance, oversight of construction quality, CPM schedule monitoring for the fast-track process, and preparation of independent cost estimates. After building completion, our team has retained via multiple 5 year contracts to assist DOE and GSA with the day-to-day changes and upgrades to the facility and manufacturing lines.
